Then, he also told us about development. It is the final stage of creativity. Development is acting on an idea to make useful, functional, possible and profitable.
En Nasir also gave us 12 puzzle questions to us to ask..and the answer is very creative! everybody laughed with most of the answers which were so easy, and actually did not require critical thinking. :D

27 OCTOBER 2011
Today we learned a new topic which was LATERAL THINKING.LATERAL THINKING was the idea of Edward De Bono.
Lateral Thinking is the opposite of vertical thinking.
In brief, lateral thinking is solving problems by an indirect and creative approach, typically through viewing problems in new and unusual view.
In contrast, the vertical thinking is solving problems using conventional logical process.
We also discussed about several ways of defining lateral thinking and characteristics of lateral thinking.
Week 6: 17 October 2011- 21 October 2011

- Knowledge
- Thinking
- Incubation
- Eureka (I found it!)
- Development
Today also group 3, which was Firdaus' group was presenting their project; 2 in 1 stapler and puncher (IZZY PUNCHLER).I copied the picture of the innovation product from this group.

People become creative in reaction to difficult circumstances or repressed emotions,
We also learnt about the THREE ELEMENTS OF HUMAN BEING which are ID, EGO and SUPER EGO.
In brief,
- ID is driven by pleasure principle, which strives for immediate gratification of all desired, wants and needs.
- EGO is responsibility for dealing with reality. EGO strives to satisfy the ID's desires in realistic and socially appropriate ways.
- SUPER EGO holds all our internalized moral standards and ideas that acquire from both parents and society. Also provides guidelines to make judgments.
Next, En Nasir asked us to played a game on how to make 5 sticks moved in order to make 3 squares out of 6 squares. (please imagine the figure, hehe)
And I did it! :D
Lastly, En Nasir told us that next class 13 October 2011 would be cancelled but we had our online quiz.
#####################################################
13 OCTOBER 2011
Today the class was cancelled but not totally cancelled. We have to do the online quiz at 8am. I just used my Sony Ericsson X10 Mini to answer that quiz, due to some problems. The quiz is about how to be a creative inventor.
Week 4: 3 October 2011 - 9 October 2011
Assalaamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and very good day to all of you...
4 OCTOBER 2011
Alhamdulillah, today, again, we continued our class by lecture from En. Nasir. We learnt about concept of creativity and differentiate between CREATIVITY, INVENTION, and INNOVATION. Most special, we've learnt new quotes by Stephen Baker >> "There is really nothing elusive or mysterious about creativity. Anyone who can talk is able to write. Anyone who can see is able to visualize and anyone who can think is able to have ideas" - Stephen Baker
Concept of Creativity
We were asked to write down all the possible use of safety pin in 5 minutes only. Our group lost in this task as we only able to list on 11 use of the safety pin.
We also learnt about Science,Technology and Engineering.
P/s: creativity>invention>innovation

6 OCTOBER 2011
En Nasir continued his lecture today about EIGHT INTELLIGENCE:
Overall, this presentation was good, but I was not agree with the game that they had planned because the banana itself was a food, and should not be played under our leg, for me, the food value had been downgraded.Indeed, the first group had often started the benchmark of all other group's presentation.

Today, also the beginner of the presentation, Carol's group was presenting their group assignment which was BANANA NATION.
Overall, this presentation was good, but I was not agree with the game that they had planned because the banana itself was a food, and should not be played under our leg, for me, the food value had been downgraded.Indeed, the first group had often started the benchmark of all other group's presentation.
Week 3: 26 September 2011 - 2 October 2011
Assalaamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and hi to all visitors..
27 SEPTEMBER 2011
Our creative class started as usual with the cheerful face from our lecturer, En. Nasir. Before started his lecture, he reminded us to activate our e-learning because it is very important during our learning process of this course.
Then, he continued his lecture on Negative Attitudes last week:
2. It can't be done ; surrendering before the battle.
3. I can't do it, or there is nothing I can do; good mind with positive attitudes + some good problem solving skills will go far in solving the problems.
4. I'm not creative.Everyone is creative to some extent ; the problem that this creativity has been suppressed by education. All you need to do is to let it come back to the surface. You will soon discover that you are surprisingly creative.
5. That's childish; remember that sometimes people laugh when something is actually funny, but often they laugh when they lack the imagination to understand the situation.
6. What will people think? ; there is strong social pressure to conform and to be ordinary and not creative.
We also learned 3 Keys for Creative Inventor
- Motivation
- Commitment
- Interest
P/S: Honestly, I have many criteria that listed in these negative attitudes, and I understood that I had to change it into positive manners. Insha Allah I will try my best to become positive from today.

29 SEPTEMBER 2011
En Nasir continued his lesson on negative attitudes that can block creativity..
7. I might fail.
We've done some personality quiz and I had earned 39..
FAILURE, let us view the failure in two views:

7. I might fail.
We've done some personality quiz and I had earned 39..
FAILURE, let us view the failure in two views:
- negative; when a thing that have been planned is not successful.
- positive: steps to gain knowledge so that the things will not happen twice, learn from mistakes.
FEAR of FAILURE is the MAJOR OBSTACLE in order to be CREATIVE.
in short, creativity needs process.
Week 2: 19 September 2011 - 25 September 2011
Assalaamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and hi to all of my visitors...
20 SEPTEMBER 2011
Today, as usual En Nasir came to our class with his big smile on his face. Then, he continued his previous lecture. Today's topic was POSITIVE ATTITUDES FOR CREATIVE.
1. Curiosity
- want to know things
- passionate
- knowledge does not require a reason.
2. Challenge
- like to identify and challenge the assumptions behind ideas, proposals, problems, beliefs and statements.
3. Constructive discontent.
- ability to see a need for improvement and to propose a method of making that improvement.
- Greedy vs improvement
4. A belief that most problems can be solved.
5. The ability to suspend judgement and criticism.
- appreciate other's opinion/views.
P/S: I assumed that these attitudes can be treat as "KPI" for me in order to determine whether I am really creative or not.

22 SEPTEMBER 2011
En Nasir continued his lecture on Postive Attitudes for Creative, which were:
6. Seeing the good in the bad.
- when we're facing with poor solutions, do not cast them away. It is because maybe there will be something useful even in worst ideas, plus, it might be turned to good effect or more greater!
7. Problems lead to improvement.
- most inventions come from problems that arose before. So, take PROBLEMS as OPPORTUNITY.
8. A problem can also be a solution.
- it is fact that when a person describes something as problems, it can sometimes can be a solution for someone else.
9. Problems are interesting and emotionally acceptable.
- then you will motivated to find any solution to overcome the problems.
This chapter ended here.:)
Before moved to another chapter, En Nasir asked every group to discuss the definition of PROBLEM among team members.
Here was the answer from our group:
Definition of Problem: New challenging learning process that may have solutions and leads to improvement.
Then, En Nasir started the next lecture which was Negative Attitudes:
1. Oh no, a problem!
- reaction to a problem is often bigger problem than the problem itself.
Problem could be defined as:
1. seeing difference between what you have and what you want.
2. recognizing or believing that there is something better than current situation.
3. opportunity for positive act.
# Today, we were given "turn" to present our group assignment, and our turn is 10. :)
